The Calla Lily Series is a new line of diamonds and carbide burs purpose-built for modern, minimally invasive restorative dentistry. This series replaces the century-old G.V. Black cavity forms — originally engineered for amalgam — with a preparation shape designed around today's adhesive composites.
Named for their trumpet-like flare reminiscent of calla lily petals, these burs build on SS White's proven Fissurotomy® Bur System and extend it into a complete, biologically-driven Class I and Class II preparation workflow. Other features and benefits include:
Preserves enamel — conservative flare geometry removes only what's necessary
Reduces fracture risk — rounded internal line angles disperse occlusal forces instead of concentrating stress
Enhances composite adaptation — shape is built to reduce C-factor stress and improve bond integrity
Biologically sound, mechanically strong — designed as part of the Bioclear Method for long-term restorative success
